NOW IS THE TIME TO GET ENROLLED!
PLEASE GET ENROLLED NOW! Now is the time to go to 4-H online and enroll yourself for the new 4-H year. You MUST be enrolled to go to a 4-H meeting, 4-H event or attend a regional or state opportunity. All adults should also be registered and be a screened volunteer. WE HAVE A FEW people still not entered.
4-H is open to ALL youth in grades K-1 year past high school. Everyone knows someone they can recruit to join the Lac qui Parle County 4-H program. Invite a friend to a club meeting, 4-H workshop or regional event and ask them to join 4-H! Let's grow grow grow our clubs and membership.
NEEDED - 4-H FOODSTAND MANAGER AND CO-MANAGER
We need 2 people to run and direct the 4-H foodstand for the 2024 fair season! If you know of anyone - please have them call the extension office 320-598-3325 - this is our largest fundraiser and need to have the foodstand open!
4-H Tasty Tuesdays: Bountiful breads
We know baking is considered an art, but did you know that it's also science? Come toss around some flour with us to create a variety of breads that you can enjoy on your own or partner it with chili, soups or even as a dessert! As we bake we will learn about the mysterious chemical reactions that happen when making these bountiful breads. This series includes lots of hand on dough learning. All tasty Tuesdays are virtual from 5:45 pm - 6:45 pm. March 19th and April 2nd & 15th - sign up in 4-H online! STILL CAN SIGN UP

WIldlife Wednesdays - Virtual Fun!
You can still register in 4-H online for this awesome wildlife learning. The sessions have excellent speakers ready to share - naturalists, educators, DNR, Nature Photographer and more! This is open to ALL 4-Hers who want to expand their "wild" side and discover the many worlds of nature! Register through 4-H online under Events - Wildlife Wednesdays begin January 31st. Super Sitters Classes
Here is an opportunity to learn how to be a super sitter and care for children. This is for ALL youth who are in grades 5th and above to learn how to take care of children - infants - small children and have the
information to keep everyone safe, playtime activities, snack ideas, emergencies and more.

FRUIT and BUTTER BRAIDS SALES
It's time to work on those plastic sculptures
- Clubs can create one together
- 4-Hers can pair up or do one themselves
- NOW is the time to design, think what plastics you can use and work on it for entry day!
- 2 from each county get to be displayed at the state fair

Livestock ID Process
Be on the lookout in mid April for the livestock information packets with all species information, premium books and the process on how you will need to ID your species and enter the information in 4-H online BY MAY 15th.! If you need assistance please call the Extension Office 320-598-3325.
4-H in the News
Lac qui Parle 4-H would love to tell everyone about the great things happening in our clubs! After every meeting, the club reporter or designated person should take a few action photos and write up a report of what the event was about. Lets get those reports in the paper! Project Idea - Safety
- Do a demonstration on farm safety
- Make a display with photos on being safe vs. unsafe around animals
- Point out on a bike for bike maintenance to keep riding safe (equipment needed for wearing)
- Water Safety - swimming and boating tips
- Tractor and other big equipment safety information
- How to keep your house safe with doing safety checks - fire alarms, locks, escape routes etc.
- Make a first aid kit
